"Speciality of photographs in relief (views and portraits)", c. 1908. Member of the "Cercle d'études photographiques et scientifiques d'Anvers" (no forename). Ferdinand's brother Louis (° Antwerp, 24.2.1887) was also recorded as a photographer at this address at the occasion of the latter's wedding on 2.12.1911. First prize winner (no forename) in the professional category of an aeronautical photography competition organised by the "Aero Club d'Anvers", the results of which were displayed in the Hotel Legrelle until 2.2.1910 (Le Matin, 31.1.1910). Vice-president of the "Union des Photographes Professionnels d'Anvers" in 1913. Ferdinand Cleas remained active at this address in the interwar period and was still recorded here in the 1937 population registry. At that period, specialized in views of the port of Antwerp. Note Frans Claes (° Antwerp, 29.10.1913; + Antwerp, 16.6.2005), a son of his brother Louis, was also recorded as a photographer in Antwerp during the interwar years, initially operating with his father. Ferdinand was honorary president of the "Club de Studio-Portrettisten der Provincie Antwerpen" in December 1950.
