      <biogHist><p>&lt;b&gt;1901 - 1914 Bruxelles, Rue de la Régence, 33&lt;/b&gt;
Successor: Pardon René
Business name of Anna Laure Clerbois, née Hansotte (see entry for Laure Clerbois) and one of her two sons. The addition of Klary to her usual surname would appear to be a commercial decision rather than a legal requirement when possibly operating as a branch of the Klary studio in Paris, owned by Charles Louis Klary, born Graindepice (° Beaumont [Meuthe-et-Moselle, F], 6.5.1837). Her two sons were Georges Léon André (° Brussels, 12.10.1881) and Lucien Désiré Eugène Maurice (° Brussels, 8.6.1883). In the population register, Georges was recorded as of no profession, Lucien as a chemist. Georges left this address on 17.2.1905 before moving to Paris [F] on 16.10.1908. The suffix "&amp; Fils" no longer appears in the directories from 1907 onwards. "Who does not recall Klary the photographer in rue de la Régence, through whose studio so many theatrical and musical artists paraded" (Le Soir, 25.12.1931). After World War I, Madame Clerbois - Klary and her husband retired to the USA while René Pardon (see that name) took over the premises and acquired the negatives of "Maison Klary" in Brussels.</p></biogHist>
