First prize winner in a photography competition organised at the 4th "Salon de l'Automobile" in Brussels in 1905. De Crawhez's travel book, "Dix ans au pays du soleil", Brussels, 1908, recounts a car journey through North Africa in 1901, and is illustrated with 92 halftone prints, including 6 plates hors texte, from his own negatives.
