1868 * - 1872 / Bruxelles - Saint-Josse, Chaussée de Haecht, 38 Predecessor: De Saedeler Hector [1] After the death of Hector De Saedeler in December 1868, his widow Caroline Louise Stacquez (° Brussels - Ixelles, 18.10.1836; + Brussels, November 1927) continued running the studio under the name of her deceased husband, in collaboration with unnamed hired photographers. "The firm of Hector De Saedeler, photographer, informs its numerous clients that a distinguished artist has joined the firm for the continuation of operations" (Journal de Bruxelles, 19.12.1868). On CVs, "on the corner of Rue de l'Abondance". The studio continued to be managed under Hector's name in this and future locations. This address continued to feature in directories until 1875, probably erroneously. 1872 * - 1876 / Bruxelles, Rue des Eperonniers, 9 Studio transferred to this address on 10.9.1872 as Veuve De Saedeler was preparing a move to no. 7. "Negatives dating from 1860 to 1868 will be preserved until 31 January 1873" (L'Echo du Parlement, 18.9.1872). Hector’s widow and children arrived from Brussels - Saint-Josse on 18.10.1872 and left for Brussels - Schaerbeek on 23.10.1876. Although the trade name "Maison H. De Saedeler" continued in use until their departure, the 1873 and 1875 Tarlier directories list "Veuve H. De Saedeler". At none of the addresses did Veuve De Saedeler or her children give photography as their profession in the population registers.
