He ran a barber's shop at no. 23 from 1882 onwards. He expanded into retail activity to include gloves, hats and photographs by 1888. Ink stamp "Photographs and paintings" at this address. Sold view photographs initialled "G.H." = Gustave Hermans (see that name). Sometimes "Delathouwer, H." in the directories. In 1890 he was listed as a photographer at this address. Studio operated at no. 28 in 1893 to 1895, according to the Rozez directory. Recorded as a trader in August 1898 and a barber in July 1901.
