Léon Narcisse Antoine, ° 29.11.1819; + 1.5.1881. Husband of Joséphine Elisa Alexandrine Walker (° Brussels - Anderlecht, 12.2.1819; + Brussels, 20.6.1888). First firm in Belgium specialising in the full range of photographic supplies. "Equipment for science, art, industry and photography. Agency for chemicals and Saxe paper from the F. Beyrich factory in Berlin. Manufacturer of Walker varnish and collodion, complete range of art and photography. Marketed a portable darkroom in partnership with Charles Waldack (see that name) in 1863 "for taking views and portraits at home", price 80 francs. Distributor for photographic lenses and instruments by Th. Ross in London, Em. Busch in Rathenow (Prussia), Jamin, successor Darlot in Paris" (Tarlier 1865 and 1866). Arrived at this address in 1859; had previously been a bookseller. Publisher of the "Bulletin Belge de Photographie" (sometimes misspelt "Delentre") from 1862 until 1872. Member of the "Société française de photographie" from 1.7.1864.
