<biogHist>
1882 - 1896 / Bruxelles - Ixelles, Rue du Collège, 29
° 4.6.1837. Already recorded as a photographer in Brussels in 1874 and a long-standing collaborator in his relation François Deron's studio. "De Ron, Joseph-Félix, operator in Brussels. He was amongst the first in Belgium to apply successfully the permanent process of carbon printing. He it is who printed the bank notes of the National Bank onto wood as well as postage stamps and telegram stamps, work that can only be carried out with the greatest difficulty and which has succeeded beyond all expectations. He has been a long-term worker in the studio of his uncle François Deron (diploma of merit)..." (Gustave De Vylder, "Revue photographique", Bulletin du Musée de l'Industrie, April 1874). From 28.1.1896 until 4.3.1898, Joseph lived at Rue de la Madeleine, 13. He certified the change of his surname to Deromps on 28.1.1896. Was he working at that time with François fils or did he succeed him? Patent of 16.2.1897 for "a system for copying carbon photographs by direct transfer onto cloth".
1898 * - 1900 Bruxelles - Saint-Gilles, Rue de Parme, 26a
Predecessor: Deron François Fils
"Studio founded in 1857". "Formerly Rue de la Madeleine". Arrived at this address on 4.3.1898. "Speciality of enlarging engravings on carbon, uncoloured and in various colours. Transfer of carbon onto cloth" [Mertens, 1899]. Also "Derosme" or "De Rosme" in the directories.
</biogHist>
