<b>1911 * - 1914 > Bruxelles, Rue Auguste Orts, 24 "Brasserie Flamande"</b> Professional organisation, the purpose of which was "to raise and improve the status of [professional] photographers". A provisional committee was set up under the working title "Syndicat des Photographes Professionels de Belgique" and first met in the "Brasserie Flamande" on 29.9.1911 in order "to draw up the articles of association" (Le Soir, 18.9.1911). Once officially constituted and now known by the title "Fédération", the first local bodies to join the national entity were Brussels, Antwerp and Namur in 1912. In March 1913 Charleroi, Ghent and Courtrai - Tournai (see relevant entries) decided to officially join. In 1912, secretary: Joseph Buys - Van Genk. In 1913: president: G. Hermans; vice-presidents: Ed. Sacré and E. Deton - Cornand; secretary: R. Pardon; deputy secretary: F. Ginckels; treasurer: J. Piron; assessor: F. Béguin. Monthly meetings at this address. By 1919, the group was being run out of Antwerp by F. Ginckels with the secretariat's address sharing that of Ginckels' studio, Rue Brederode, 106. On letterhead of 1919, "Established in 1911", referring to constitution of the provisional committee.
