Predecessor: Triebels Gustave
° 1.1.1879; + 15.8.1947. Son of the painter Felix Nicaise Jacops and Sylvie Michiels, elder daughter of Jan-Frans Michiels (see that name). At the age of 17 he took over the two shops run by his late parents in Cologne, Passage Königin Augustahalle. He sold photographic reproductions and travel souvenirs there (stereoscopic views of Cologne and the Rhine valley). Took over Triebels’ studio on 1.4.1903, where he made portraits and sold engravings. Reproduction of paintings by Bruges masters. He was the official photographer of the "Gulden Vlies" exhibition in Bruges in 1907. Jacops used as trademark a miniature copy of a Rembrandt self-portrait. Also published postcards. Agency for "Photoglob Zürich". Still listed at this address in the 1913 Monod directory.</p></biogHist>
