She granted power of attorney on 15.3.1906 to her son André concerning her photography business (Het Handelsblad, 21.4.1906). André [Andreas Martinus Ludovicus] (° Antwerp, 21.11.1872) seems to have previously operated in association with his parents: see entry for Adolphe Joly. After serving a sentence of eight months imprisonment for theft, André Joly left for Spain and France, returning to Antwerp in early 1905. When arrested for forging banknotes in January 1907, he had an attic studio in Rue Floris, 19 and was living with his mother in Antwerp - Borgerhout, Guldensporenstraat, 110. Metal plates ("zincographies") were seized.
