1859 * Mons, Rue de la Chaussée, 47 (on Mr Prudhomme’s premises) "Studio in Paris". However, no studio "Léon" is recorded in Paris at this date. At a later date: Léon, Faubourg Saint-Martin, 89 in 1866 and Moïse Léon & J. [Isaac] Lévy, Boulevard Sébastopol, 113 from 1864. The photographer, arriving in Mons, displayed a collection of portraits made by a "process on enamel" and favourable articles from the newspapers in the places he had visited. The price of his portraits was 2.50 francs unframed. He advertised a brief stay until the Brussels branch of his Parisian establishment had been completed (Gazette de Mons, 25.7.1859). We have found no trace of him in Brussels.
