Jean Baptiste Athanase, ° 18.1.1824. Manufacturer and merchant. He organised the Brussels leg of a tour through Belgium by the Cosmorama (see that name), an apparatus for the public display of stereoscopic slides.  "From 23 November, Mr Th. Metz's Cosmorama, or artistic exhibition of stereoscopic photographs on glass, will be transferred from its venue in the "Société royale philharmonique", rue de l'Ecuyer, 24 to Mr Lorsont's magnificent establishment" (La Belgique, November 1867). Lorsont had extensive warehouse space on rue de l'Ecuyer.</p></biogHist>
