<b>1854 ca Bruxelles (view of)</b> French calotypist. A print featuring the church of Sainte-Gudule in Brussels, from one of his negatives, appears in the album "Variétés photographiques" published by Blanquart-Evrard, nd [1854] and is credited on the mount. There is no consensus as to the photographer's identity. Possibilities include a youthful Dr Armand Sabattier (1834 - 1910) or Jean Sabattier or Sabatier (1806 - after 1869), legal stenographer in Paris and founder member of the "Société française de photographie". Furthermore a certain Henry Sabatier founded a portrait studio in Le Puy-en-Velay [Haute-Loire, F] in 1856.
