1866 Gand, Rue des Douze Chambres, 9 Predecessor: Trossaert Bernard (Fils) ° 23.10.1830; + 22.7.1878. Initials "J.B." on mount; stating "sculptor and photographer". "Madame Vanbiesbroeck" in Ghent directory. Jean Baptiste Van Biesbroeck was recorded as a sculptor on the occasion of his wedding to Eugenia Coleta Delsande (° Ghent, 17.10.1830; + Ghent, 26.10.1893) in Ghent on 14.4.1860. Note that his predecessor at this address, Bernard Trossaert, was also a stone carver by profession. Irrespective of the specific roles of Van Biesbroeck and his wife, this was a very short-lived studio. Madame Van Biesbroeck was in charge of a shop in Antwerp wholesaling and retailing perfumes, soaps and other personal hygiene items that reopened in June 1866 (De Koophandel, 26.6.1866).
