Henri Jean, ° 15.9.1861; + 16.12.1933. Brother of Charles and François Edward. Recorded as a diamond cutter in Antwerp in 1882 and again in 1885. Applied for planning permission to build a studio in the backyard on 11.12.1894. Subsequently advertised "Diploma at the Universal Exhibition, 1894; he was awarded 8th prize for 20 views of stands in the photography competition run by the exhibition’s organisers. “Portrait studio in the garden”. Specialised in portraits for cyclists.

"Opposite the National Bank". "Van Boghout Frères" in the 1894 directory. This address was the parental home, occupied by the whole family since 26.7.1882. His brother Ed. van Boghout was recorded at this address from 16.1.1894. Also note that Victor Benner (see that name) was recorded as a commercial traveller at this address from 9.9.1893 until 15.9.1893.
