<b>1885 - 1901 Roulers</b> ° 24.12.1840; + 18.10.1917. Journalist, printer and publisher of the weekly "De Mandelgalm" and of its successor "Gazette van Rousselaere". Advertising as "Volksfotografie" as early as August 1885 (De Mandelgalm, 1.8.1885). Initially active at Kattestraat, 3, the same address as the offices of "De Mandelgalm". Still listed in the Mendel directory in 1904, though he had perhaps already ceased operating as a photographer by this time. He published a memoir of his professional activities in 1914 that stressed his political commitment.
