Photography studio for copying plans and documents. Also documented public building works, sometimes in series of large-format albumen prints. According to an article on the "Archives générales du Royaume" site: "Initially, most of the pictures were intended to document accidents that occurred on construction sites or to enlighten the courts in the context of disputes related to expropriations, for example. It was only in the mid-1890s that the work of the studio began to take a less "technical" turn with the production of photographs intended to illustrate the activity of the Ministry of Public Works during major exhibitions or in publications. This turning point coincided with the creation of a veritable photo library in which the photographs considered most useful were archived." The online photo library contains images dating from 1896 onwards.
