Estelle Dugit or Dujit (° Paris, [F], 24.5.1833; ?, + 22.9.1919), widow of Alexandre Edouard Drains; in partnership with her son Albert Edouard, who would become a leading Pictorialist. Branch studio in Amsterdam [NL], Kalverstraat 162 opened on 15.11.1875 (Algemeen Handelsblad, 14.11.1875). The studio in Amsterdam went by the title "Photographie Belge, Alexandre & Cie" and would remain active until at least 1883 (Algemeen Handelsblad, 21.8.1883). The Belgian studio traded under the widow’s name in the directories from 1878 only.
Nocturnal views of fireworks in 1883 (by Albert Edouard). Exhibitions under the name "Alexandre", i.e. Albert Edouard. Well introduced into artistic circles, he gave a slide show of instantaneous views or snapshots to the association "L'Essor" in late 1884 and displayed similar snapshots at the "Cercle artistique et littéraire" in Brussels in early 1888. Views of the agricultural enterprise of Messrs Rey aîné in Ruysbroeck, exhibited at the ABP Brussels section in 1891.
