"New material for Daguerreotype and Photography for sale. By a person arriving from Frankfurt and Vienna. He will reveal the diverses chemical processes employed in these two cities, where photography is so advanced." (Messager de Gand, 6.9.1850). It should be recalled that Frankfurt was a centre for the early adoption of paper photography. A connection to Hickmann & Volker (see those names) cannot be excluded.
