Jean François, ° 13.4.1875; + 29.6.1933. Sometimes "Hasaert" in the directories. Asaert was already living in Ostend when he married Jeanne Marie Pierloot (° Ostend) in Ostend on 18.11.1899. Consecutive residences in Rue de l'Eglise, sometimes not coinciding with studio addresses listed in directories, recorded in the Ostend population registers as follows: 23 in November 1900 and November 1901, 13 in October 1903, 11 in November 1904, September 1908 and March 1909, then 3 in May 1911. Member of several Catholic confraternities.

Residence recorded here in December 1914. Some card mounts omit the street number. "F. Asaert" was still operating at this address in 1930 (Het Belfort, 9.8.1930). His son Robert Asaert (° Ostend, 19.11.1900) would follow in his footsteps and operate as a photographer in Ypres and later on in Diksmuide in the interwar years.
