Mathieu Victor Sylvain, ° 18.9.1872. Son of Victor Barras (see that name). At his wedding in Morlanwelz on 4.12.1897, he was recorded as a photographer domiciled in Ypres. Arrived at this address from Chatelet on 22.8.1900. CV autographed “V. Barras” with no street name, 1900 ca. Left for Charleroi on 28.5.1902.

The directories list a V. Barras in Gosselies (no street given) in 1905 and 1906. He ran two studios in Gosselies, then left for Jemeppe-sur-Meuse after 1927. His son, also named Victor (° Gosselies, 11.3.1904; + Seraing, 2.11.1980), ran the studio at Rue de la Station, 23 from 1923 onwards, then left for Seraing in 1927.
