Initially painter-decorators, then photographers. There were four brothers: Louis Bernard (° Ghent, 17.2.1839; + Ghent 5.4.1887), Théodore Victor (° Ghent, 29.4.1835; + Ghent, 20.12.1885), house painter and decorator, former pupil of A. de Baets at the Academy of Ghent and prizewinner for perspective in 1856, Auguste Charles (° Ghent, 10.1.1838), and Edouard Charles (° Ghent, 31.10.1844; + Ghent, 23.1.1890). Acquired the negatives of Ed. Renoz’s studio in 1869. Edouard was a founder member of the ABP.

Successor: Beernaert Veuve Edouard (supplies and plates)
"Rue Hareng Pec." Transfer to this address announced in October 1871. F. Michel, Place du Commerce, 12, 1880 ca claimed to be their successor. No longer listed here in the 1885 Ghent directory.
