Maurice Victor François Marie Joseph. ° 30.9.1866; + 6.12.1938. Doctor in law. His first photographs date back to the early 1890s. A photograph of the Shanghai docks credited to Bekaert was published in "Le Globe Illustré" on 8.5.1904.
1913 Sweveghem
He took many photos in Egypt. Author of "L'Egypte et le Soudan, pays de tourisme", published by the "Chambre de commerce belgo-égyptienne", Brussels, 1934. President of "Association Catholique de Woluwe-Saint-Pierre". Knight of the Order of Leopold. Bekaert’s body was repatriated by boat and interred in the family vault in Jodoigne.
