° 4.6.1830. Often spelled "Bellé" in advertisements in the 1860s. Itinerant. Advertised in "La Semaine", 12.5.1859 that he was operating in the garden of Nicolas Mostert’s premises and still advertising on 17.8.1859. Then advertised in "La Semaine", 29.4.1860 "on the premises of Veuve Muller". Intended to stay at this address for two weeks.

First permanent studio, "opposite Nicolas Müller's forge". "I have just opened a photography studio and I take portraits on paper, glass or waxed canvas, of all sizes, as well as cartes de visite" (La Semaine, 17.1.1863).

Another entrance on Place Saint-Géréon. Moved his studio to this address in May 1865. In June 1873, Belle transferred operations temporarily to Chemin-Rue, 380, the premises of Maraite - Herkenne, perhaps just for a number of days. Album "Vues de Malmédy", containing 18 albumen prints, 18 x 25 cm., published in 1875, price 15 Thalers. The prints, made from negatives that Belle had been taking since 1872, were also on sale separately at 1 Thaler each. Belle was no longer listed in the population registry in 1881.

On the premises of Veuve Gilson. Advertised his stay in the "Kreisblatt für den Kreis Malmedy", 7.3.1868. "Daguerreotypes, photographs, and paintings copied".

Recorded in the foreigners register in 1883 as a photographer from the Netherlands. His presence in Sint-Truiden was probably intermittent and he probably continued to operate initially as an itinerant, at least until 1888. Also operated in Eindhoven [NL] from 24.8.1881 and left by 19.1.1888. Made photographs in the neighbourhood of Enghien as well as views of Seneffe castle.
