At his wedding in Brussels - Etterbeek on 26.2.1896, Benner was recorded as a photographer. Left for Brussels - Ixelles on 12.3.1896 and subsequently moved to Brussels - Saint-Josse, back to Brussels and then to Brussels - Laeken in the period 1897 to 1899 when he may have been a journeyman photographer.
