Henri Joseph Napoléon, ° 30.12.1835; + 29.3.1911. Professor of chemistry and bacteriology at the "Université libre de Bruxelles" and liberal member of the "Chambre des représentants". Gave public courses in photography at the old ophanage in Brussels in March 1875, at the "Association libérale" in April 1879 and at the "Ecole normale" on 5.4.1882. Bergé had edited "Le Chimiste" in 1865, the first attempt at a popular scientific periodical to be photographically illustrated. Father of Albert Bergé (see that name).
