Herman Carl / Charles, ° 8.8.1836; + 2.4.1902. Took a series of 19 views of Ypres and its monuments, some in the collections of the municipal museum. On the occasion of King Leopold II's visit to Ypres on 3.8.1868, Biskeborn presented the king with an album "containing eighteen splendid views of our town and our main monuments" (Le Progrès, 23.8.1868). During a stay lasting until at least November 1868, Biskeborn played an active part in community life.

CV with a lithographed back label for "Biskeborn & Cie". Thereafter Biskeborn left Belgium. CV dated 6.7.1868 with an address in Vienna, probably prior to his arrival in Belgium; CV c. 1869: 9, Rue d'Esquermoise (corner of Grand Place), Lille [F]. Note that Lucien Frobert (see that name) occupied this studio in the 1870s. Biskeborn then moved on to the UK and was recorded in London - Uxbridge on 19.7.1869. He married in Dover on 18.8.1870 and thereafter operated mainly on the south coast of England. Biskeborn was recorded as a studio photographer in Chatham in 1871 and 1875, Bath in 1877 and then in Southsea later in the 1870s where a CV states “Photographic artist from Vienna”.
Biskeborn returned briefly to Belgium where he was recorded as a photographer aged 48 living in Liège, Boulevard d’Avroy, 18 on the occasion of the birth of a son on 19.7.1885. Other children were born when he was operating in Turin [I] on 8.5.1887, in Nice [F] on 14.4.1890 and Hanover [D] on 24.8.1898.
