Gustave Louis François, ° 5.1.1854; son of Louis (see that name). Recorded as director of the local gasworks at his wedding in Chimay on 4.10.1882 and in the 1891-1900 population register both as director of the gas works and a photographer. Therefore, like his father, he practised photography as a professional sideline but there are no records indicating the precise location of his studio. Granted a German patent for a "gas meter with constant water level" on 4.7.1901. No link to a certain Gustave Joseph Blampain (° Montigny-Saint-Christophe, c. 1865), recorded as a tradesman aged 26 domiciled in Chimay in September 1891.
