He founded the first photographic printing works in France at Loos-lez-Lille. He targeted the Belgian market by publishing views of Belgium and, about 1854, two large-size series: "La Belgique " by Eugène Desplanques (see that name), and "Bruxelles photographique" by Guillaume Claine (see that name). A third series "Les bords de la Meuse" was announced, but never published.
