Adolphe Gustave, ° 28.7.1837. At his wedding in Wervik on 23.11.1864, Blieck was recorded as a tradesman living in Wervik. At the birth of a son in Roubaix [Nord, F] on 8.9.1865, he was recorded as a tradesman living in Roubaix. Blieck’s activity as a photographer must have been brief and was perhaps a secondary occupation while he was still living in the parental home. There are SVs of the same period, at least one with a Parisian scene, bearing the ink stamp "Blieck - Vuylsteke / Wervicq". Blieck’s parents, Pierre Auguste Blieck and Clémentine Béatrice Vuylsteke, were traders and shopkeepers domiciled in Wervik. They are thus likely to have also stocked and sold photographic prints. Concerning these SVs, also see entry for Ferdinand Callebert.
