Henri Antoine Désiré, ° 21.3.1847. Sometimes transcribed "Boombeek". Secretary of "S.A. Les Arts Graphiques" operating at this address. Previously recorded in the Brussels 1880 population register as an office clerk, Bombeeck moved to Brussels - Ixelles on 29.12.1888 before returning to Brussels on 31.8.1889. In an article on the revolutionary typesetting system invented by Ottmar Mergenthaler in 1885 and marketed under the name "Linotype", it was stated that "Mr Henri Bombeeck, secretary of the "Société des arts graphiques", [has] decided to exploit in the near future this new and ingenious American invention" (Journal de Bruxelles, 25.9.1889).
