Achille Georges Emmanuel, ° 10.4.1884; + 6.10.1937. After following specialised courses in colonial agriculture at the "Ecole d'horticulture de l'Etat" in Vilvoorde, Boone arrived in Boma on 21.12.1909. Stationed in Nala from 5.5.1910 until late 1912, he collected copious documentation in botany, in particular on new species of plants. Some of his photographs were published as postcards. Boone served in the artillery in Africa during World War I then returned permanently to Belgium, subsequently becoming managing director of the "Compagnie du Lubilash".
