Appolinaire Adrien Bougard (° Estinnes-au-Mont, 23.4.1819; + Manage, 20.4.1885) founded his first glassworks in Manage in 1855 (Gazette de Charleroi, 24.4.1888). In 1872, Bougard became a partner in the glassworks of H. Lebrun & Cie, henceforth known as "A. Bougard, H. Lebrun & Cie" (Journal de Charleroi, 15.6.1872). That company was dissolved in 1878 (Gazette de Charleroi, 19.5.1878) and Bougard seems to have continued it under his own name. After Bougard's death in 1885, his son-in-law Adolphe Thys - Bougard (° Liège, 21.8.1857; + Brussels - Evere, 12.6.1894) took over the glassworks in Roux. The firm, once again referenced as "A. Bougard, H. Lebrun & Cie", was in liquidation by 1891 (Gazette de Charleroi, 2.9.1891).
