Edmond Bastyns (see that name) signed as a witness on both these birth certificates. Post World War I, Braeckmans was still trading as a druggist and photographic supplier in Antwerp, Place de la Gare, 24. The firm was continued by members of his family after Braeckmans' retirement or death for the rest of the interwar period and beyond.
