Carl Heinrich Ernst Brainich von Brainich-Felth, ° 31.7.1873. A second-generation photographer, his father Carl Heinrich Emil (1834 - 1909) ran the partnership of C. Brainich & E. Leusink in Arnhem [NL]. The younger Brainich operated the Nijmegen [NL] branch of the family business from 1895 until his departure for Brussels in 1906.

Building constructed for Brainich in 1911, consisting of a ground-floor business space and upstairs living quarters. The architect and decorator Paul Cauchie (1875 - 1952), who lived nearby, provided decorative elements in sgraffito to the façade, including an inscription "Photographie" in art-nouveau capital letters that is no longer extant. As "Ch." Brainich, listed at this address until 1937.
