Max Ludwig, ° 26.9.1875. Often spelled "Brocking". Employee of L. Gevaert & Cie. Arrived in Belgium on 1.4.1898 and stayed with Mr Martens in Antwerp - Mortsel before being recorded as a photographer when he arrived in Antwerp in July 1899. Later recorded as a photographer resident in Mortsel at the birth of a daughter in July 1904, which suggests that he was already working for Gevaert at that time. Made an honorary member of "Fotografische Kring Iris" on 28.11.1912. Jury member of the photography competition organised by "Fotografische Kring Iris" in 1912 for prints inspired by the works of Henri Conscience. Gave multiple courses and lectures on photography organised by the "Photographische Kring / Cercle de Photographie" in the period 1910-1914.
