° 1.2.1854; + 10.2.1931. He made his first exposures in Rue de l'Eglise, in the rooms of the Alhambra lounge, then he moved to Rue du Calvaire. Early CVs bear the credit "T.N. Carlier". Advertising as "Carlier & Fils" by September 1911 (Petites Nouvelles Photographiques, 1.9.1911). He worked with his son Emile, who eventually took over the studio. This studio has escaped destruction, and a non profit-making association, "Musée Noël Carlier", was founded in 1992 for the purpose of preserving it.
