Member of the “Cercle d’études photographiques et scientifiques d’Anvers”. "Alph." in a 1909 newspaper article about CEPSA (Le Matin, 2.4.1909). The membership list in the 1908 "Annuaire général et international de la photographie" merely mentions the name "Clayes", but the address given corresponds with that of Ad. Claeys, a cigar manufacturer. This is almost certainly Adolphe Claeys (° Oedelem, 28.7.1865; + 20.3.1958), who was recorded as having a cigar store at another address in the 1890-1900 Antwerp - Berchem population register. He did not have a son named Alphonse.
