Climan had previously been registered as a druggist at Rue Carnot, 119 from 1893 onwards but there is no record of any activities relating to photography when he was trading at that address.

Collotype at this address from 1906 onwards. Climan made a speciality of postcards of news events and public ceremonies, such as royal visits and local festivities. Remained at this address throughout the 1920s and was still living at no. 19 when he died. This was an art-nouveau style shop and residence designed by the architect Jacques De Weerdt in 1904 and from which a Climan family member was likely still trading in the late 1930s.
