Department store. Owned and founded by Berthold Cohn (° Magdeburg [D], 7.9.1869; + 16.10.1928) who married "Irma" Léontine Hortense Donnay (° Liège, 15.12.1877; + 11.11.1918) in Brussels - Ixelles on 1.3.1898. Opened on 27.10.1902 (Le Peuple, 26.10.1902). Sellers and publishers of picture postcards. They also sold albums and frames for photography.

Opened here on 20.4.1903 (La Meuse, 20.4.1903). The firm also opened a branch in Rotterdam [NL] on 23.4.1904 (De Maasbode, 23.4.1904). Architect Paul Hamesse (1877 - 1956) transformed the shopfronts of the stores in Brussels and Liège in an art-nouveau style before being commissioned by Berthold Cohn - Donnay in 1904 to remodel the interior of the family's town house in Brussels - Saint-Josse, Rue Royale 316, the present-day restaurant "De Ultieme Hallucinatie".
