Camille Aimé, ° 15.10.1853; + 24.3.1891. Soldier, explorer and colonial administrator. Vice Governor-General of the Congo Free State from 1890 until his death from malaria in 1891. An associate of Henry Morton Stanley during expeditions to the Upper Congo during the mid-1880s, Coquilhat’s account, published as "Sur le Haut-Congo" in 1888, was illustrated with several of his own photographs.
