Henri Joseph Marie, ° 7.10.1860. Elder brother of Charles and Ernest (see those names). Studio photographer and retoucher. Recorded as a photographer in November 1885 when witness on his father's death certificate and as a photographer-retoucher on the occasion of his wedding in Liège on 4.9.1886. His father, Philippe Henri "Célestin" Crampon (° Liège, 27.10.1830; + Liège, 26.11.1885), an engraver and stone setter, was an enthusiastic magic-lantern lecturer and popular educator in the 1870s and 1880s. After his death, Célestin's triple-lens magic lantern was advertised for sale at the family home, Place des Béguinages, 4 (La Meuse, 31.7.1886).
Photograph bearing no address, dated June 1888. "Henri Crampon aîné. Retoucher. 15 years of practice. Previously Rue Reynier, 57" (La Meuse, 10.5.1890). Recorded as a photographer at no. 64 on 18.6.1892. He operated in Amiens [F], Rue Vascosan, 8 as early as 1906 and throughout the 1910s and 1920s.
