Recorded as a photographer domiciled in Brussels - Saint-Josse at the occasion of her wedding to Emile Henri Julien Descamps (° Brussels - Saint-Josse, 16.12.1848) in Brussels - Saint-Josse on 22.6.1887. In 1887-1889, in the directory: "A. Descamps - Daams". Sometimes written Daems. "Studio specialising in copying old photographs" [Mertens, 1891]. At a local exhibition of arts and crafts in Saint-Josse in 1892, "Mme Adèle Daams exhibit[ed] copies of old photographs where she was able to recover details and effects that time had completely effaced from the originals" (La Revue des Sports, 26.11.1892).
Adèle Daams left for Rue de l'Etuve, 4 on 20.3.1905 but the studio continued to operate under her name. In 1910 she was registered as a pensioner. The studio was taken over by Georges Emile Degrom (° Bruges, 6.9.1869) who was recorded as a photographer domiciled in Brussels - Saint-Josse at his wedding to Adèle Daams' niece Albine Daams (° Bruges, 11.10.1869) in Brussels on 19.10.1892. He was trading as "Degrom - Daams" around 1915. The studio moved around 1950 and continued trading until 1994.
