Daems wrote "Niellophototypie. Découverte photographique applicable aux arts industriels". Brussels, Office de publicité, 1865, 21 pp. He supplied the prints for "Le Chimiste" in 1865, a monthly edited by Henri Bergé (see that name) and the first attempt at a popular scientific periodical to be photographically illustrated. Jean-Baptiste Daems married Marie Dewrée (° Brussels, 10.12.1841) in Brussels on 10.4.1866. Daems - De Wrée published a photograph by J. Varenne, Rue de la Fourche, 36, reproducing a drawing of the Empress of Mexico Charlotte praying, accompanied by an angel and the Emperor Maximilian (+ 19.6.1867) in heaven.
