Georges François Jean Baptiste, ° 5.7.1885; + 5.8.1960. Accountant and colonial business executive. After study at the "Institut supérieur de commerce d'Anvers", Danhier was recruited by the "Union minière du Haut-Katanga". He left for the Congo on 4.7.1908 as an assistant accountant, a term of service that ended on 1.12.1911. His photographs of a railway under construction in Elisabethville, dated 1.10.1910, were published in the "Bulletin de la Société Belge d'Etudes Coloniales" in 1911. Assisted Gustave Itten in charge of the photography section of the "Touring Club de Belgique - section du Katanga" on its creation in July 1911. Returned to Congo in October 1912. After World War I, Danhier worked in Dar-es-Salaam [now Tanzania] and again in Congo in various executive capacities until January 1930.
