François Charles Simonet, ° 22.7.1817. Civil engineer. Patent of 12.8.1858 for "a combination of reducing agents applied to photography" [protoxide sulphate of iron and copper sulphate]. Patent of 25.6.1862 for "improvements in the manufacture of photographic cameras" [bellow without interior frame], and patent relating to improvements of 15.7.1862 for "additions to the construction of photographic cameras". Patent of 15.9.1862 for "a printing frame for photographic copying".  Also patents in the fields of lighting (oil or paraffin lamps, electric light) and the manufacture of inks. A certain Charles Simonet de Changy operated a portrait studio in Boulogne-sur-Mer [Pas-de-Calais, F] from 1857 to 1861.
