Theophilus Eugenius Augustus, ° 5.5.1877; + 16.7.1948. Arrived at this address on 28.10.1903. Reprographic printing works for lithography, collotype and photoengraving. Also production of photographic card mounts. Specialised in picture postcards in collotype, some under the trademark "Carte Pèle-Mèle" bearing the initials H.D.G. The studio burned down on 26.4.1906: "The printing works for picture postcards has been reduced to ashes. A very large number of negatives have been destroyed. Fortunately there is insurance" (Het Nieuws van den Dag, 28.4.1906). There was possibly also a portrait studio operating at this address, 1907-1908. Still a member of the ABP in 1922. Remained active at this address during the interwar period when he was a prolific publisher of picture postcards of Ghent and the Belgian coast under the "Star" trade mark. The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) in Brussels possesses a collection of 373 negatives, views of Brussels and other historic localities in Belgium, purchased from De Graeve in 1943.
