° 18.11.1826; + 8.6.1912. Sculptor, painter and photographer. Husband of Maria A.J.H. Rypens (° Antwerp, 16.6.1830; + Iseghem, 13.11.1897). Recorded as a sculptor in 1870 and 1897. De Jonghe photographed the poet Guido Gezelle (1830 - 1899), on the basis of which he made oil paintings in around 1890. A source dates the original portrait sitting to May 1882. CV with spelling "Rouselaerstraat", c. 1902.

Recorded as having no profession on his death certificate. His son-in-law Philomin Verbeke posthumously exhibited some of his portraits and paintings at the art and photography exhibition in Iseghem in 1912.
