° 16.5.1848. Renier [sic] De Man was already recorded in Brussels as a photographer in February 1871. Arrived from Brussels - Ixelles in August 1875 and formed a partnership with Crosset at this address. He operated alone from March 1879 at the latest. Patent of 15.5.1883 for "a photographic camera" [spy camera for taking pictures of a person in a moderately lit room]. Left for Brussels - Saint-Josse in July 1889.
