Assistant at the University of Ghent and then, from 1912, at the "Institut Pasteur de Brabant". Autochromist from at least October 1908. Subsequently his autochromes were exhibited at the ABP's 24th annual slide show in Liège in March 1912. Still a member of the ABP in 1922. A renowned bacteriologist, he was president of the "Laboratoire international de Chimie et de Bactériologie" in the 1930s.
